Ellis is a modern take on classic aran cables … a richly textured, double-breasted cowl that can be worn two ways. When knit in a tonal hand-dyed yarn, like Becoming Art, the hollows and highlights of the cables pattern really come to life! (Sample shown in the ‘Hana’ colorway.)

Sizing + Finished Measurements
Pattern is written for one size to fit the average adult. Measurements are taken post-blocking.
Length (unbuttoned): 28”
Neck Opening: 21”
Height: 6½”

Materials
Yarn: Yardages listed are generous estimates. It’s always better to err on the side of too much yarn rather than too little. When in doubt, buy the extra skein for insurance. You will need approximately 200 yards of worsted or aran weight yarn. Sample was knit with Becoming Art’s Pure Aran in “Hana”.

Needles: One 20” or longer circular needle in US 8 (5mm) or size required to obtain gauge.

Notions: 4 buttons approx. ¾” (2 cm) in diameter, 2 st markers, a darning needle for weaving in ends.
