“This hat was inspired by cozy Scandinavian simplicity, and I hope to wear it someday on an adventure in the fjords of Norway. Purled ridges came into the design as a way of hiding the decrease rows that give this hat its special just-slouchy-enough fit, and the tonal striped look was an added bonus. The garter stitch star shape at the top of the hat is formed by a simple arrangement of decreases. My design and construction philosophy tends toward keeping things as simple as possible without sacrificing special details.” – Jenny Gordy
