These socks are made in stranded knitting, which is great for creating vibrant motifs.

I recommend the use of two solid yarns. This kind of pattern is prone to drown when semisolid or very colourful yarns are used.

The yardage from my sample (women’s medium, EU39) was 310 yds main colour and 120 yds contrast colour.

The pattern does not explain basic sock knitting or stranded knitting. Nevertheless, if you’re a somewhat experienced sock knitter, you can easily do this as a first project in stranded knitting. The internet is full of tutorials and this pattern is not very complex, so give it a try! :)
