These mitts are named Ironwork because the colorwork pattern reminds me of wrought iron work. The idea came to me as I was learning Fair Isle knitting--I wanted a project that would give me practice, but that would not involve steeks and rapid color changes. Keeping the colorwork away from the shaping areas allows singular focus, and the use of hand-dyed yarns gives the subtle look of color changes without the extra work. I hope this project either helps you practice a technique new to you, or just gives you a fun project. Enjoy!
