Three cute little bug hats to make for preemies
You could make these for larger babies too, if you use the pattern with larger needles.

They are easy to make and full instructions are given for both the colorwork and the duplicate stitching on the ‘wings’.

Note that although the pattern states to use intarsia for the 2 st vertical ‘seam’ separating wings on the ladybug and butterfly….this cannot be done in the round the normal way.
What you need to do is knit to the black part which separates the wings, and strand backwards from the previous round for 2 sts. So keep a bobbin at the exact place you need to do the black seam, just strand backwards, knit a couple of black sts, then knit the round as normal, when you get that point again the yarn will be 2 sts in front of you, just keep stranding it backwards.
I did write those instructions into the pattern, but unfortunately they got edited out.
