Sorry; this pattern has some visual changes. Part of a file was missing and I’ve adapted my notes. The body and feet are essentially the same. Have kept the triangular shape of the wings and beak, but have decided the beak looks better sewn on one edge instead of flattened against the face. The eyes… well, those are definitely different. I couldn’t find my 3.5mm hook last night and, frankly, I decided small eyes were cuter than crocheted circles anyway.

The exact eyes in the first photo are (literally) a large knot of yarn, blanket stitched to the face with black cotton thread. My little boy told me I had to add a tiny blob of white yarn to the centre of each eye. So, I duly did! ;)

The second photo shows the original penguin. One of my kids has it - somewhere - in the toy mountain. If you prefer the original eyes: they are just magic loops of 5 dc sts, using a 3.5mm hook, with a French knot in the centre.
