Pattern description from Son of Stitch ‘n Bitch: “Alpaca, silk, kid mohair, and wool - did my boyfriend deserve such a special sweater? Yes, but I needed to make sure it was a sweater he’s love to wear - and that I’d love to make. The luxurious, variegated yarn will keep the knitter interested, while mixing it together with a strand of neutral black alpaca tones down the color changes, making it more suitable for a guy. The set-in sleeves are knit from the top town, so he can try it on as you knit and ensure the sleeve length is perfect. And the neckband is knit in ribbing, then doubled and sewn down on the inside to keep it nice and snug without being too tight. This sweater says thank you for all those visits to yarn shops and times he had to wait ‘just one more row.’”

Sizes:

  • S (M, L, XL, XXL)
  • Finished chest: 38 (42, 46, 50, 54)“
  • Finished length 25 (25.75, 26.75, 27.5, 28.25)“

Materials:

  • MC: Noro Silk Garden (45% silk, 45% kid mohair, 10% lambswool; 50g/110yd), 7 (8, 9, 10, 11) skeins #47
  • CC: Fable Handknit Pure Baby Alpaca (100% baby alpaca; 50g/145yd), 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) skeins #07 black
  • US 9 (5.5mm) circular needle and dpns (set of 5)
  • US 10 (6mm) circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 3 stitch markers
  • 4 stitch holders or waste yarn

Note: “The only sewing involved in this pattern is securing the neckband to the inside of the sweater. The body is knit bottom-up in one piece, and the set-in sleeves are knit top down. Shoulders are short-rowed and joined with a 3 needle bind-off. Entire sweater is knit with the yarns held together.”
