From the pattern description: “The “Nauthiz” rune is representative of resistance that leads to strength, of self-reliance, the power of will to overcome distress, confusion and conflict. In its merkstave form it is indicative of a constraint of freedom and emotional hunger. Add these together and there is no doubt that Sirius Black is the personification of Nauthiz. Strong in his conviction to stand against his heritage; yet, at the same time, hungry for the love of a family. Always longing to belong. Featuring “Nauthiz” and “Nauthiz” Reversed, this sock also features a subtle row of upwards pointing arcs on each side, to symbolize Sirius’ rising above his upbringing to become what he knew was right.”

This pattern is one part of a 12 pattern set of Ancient Runes Sock Patterns.
