This was my first venture with pom-pom yarn. I always passed it by because ‘what could you really make with that’. One day I was walking though the yarn store, on my phone, not looking but touching, and my fingers fell on this. This plush little yarn called out to me, I knew I had to make something fun for my baby.

Four balls came home and were worked and reworked until they became this adorable little baby blanket. It took a total of two nights of knitting. I normally like a bigger blanket but this is the perfect size. We can’t live without it now. It’s been washed and washed and washed (gentle cycle) and it’s still soft and fluffy. The yarn has really held up well. I bought extra yarn in case the current blanket ever wears out and needs to be replaced or I need a last minute baby gift. Enjoy.

Note: There have been several comments that this yarn is difficult to knit. It takes a little getting used to. Only knit in the strand between the pompoms, one stitch between each set of pompoms. You shouldn’t be pulling the pompoms through the stitches. I used large, bamboo, circular needles. The large needle size was sufficient to take up all of the yarn strand between pompoms in one stitch. The bamboo provided enough grip to keep the stitches from easily falling off of the needles.
