The Remedy shawl is a sideways shawl. This means stitches are first increased as you go along one edge until you reach the halfway point and then decreases are worked along the same side. The two main benefits of a sideways shawl are that there are never too many stitches on the needle and once and that they can easily be resized. There are notes given in the instructions about how to make your shawl larger or smaller to suit your taste.

The shawl pin shown in the photos is from Cacklin’ Hen Designs.
