Come and join me in A Big Comfy Doghouse where we have fun knitting these designs, testing new ones, seeing pics of our fur kids, and sharing recipes for treats for fur kids and their people!
The September 2014 Knit AND Crochet Along at A Big Comfy Doghouse will be the Cornflowers In The Tomato Patch Hat and Socks! You must be able to do simple crochet for these patterns and if you need a bit of crochet knowledge, this is an excellent time to get it in our very own Learn 2 Crochet class starting this week!
Making these in team colors is a great way to start out the school year! So come hook and knit with us this month!
For the C/KAL, DOGHOUSECKAL is the coupon code to get these patterns for only $2.50 - 50% off beginning August 24 at 6:00 p.m. EST and ending at midnight on August 31, 2014!
The C/KAL will begin September 1 for those who can both crochet and knit now and October 1 for those who will be taking the Learn 2 Crochet class. There will be a separate coupon code for class attendees once they have completed their practice swatches.
SPECIAL FOR THIS C/KAL!
If you would rather not put the braids on your hat, there are instructions for an easy way to leave them out and just work in your main color only in the first post of the C/KAL.
I am a writer/designer and am the author of Knitting Languages, Romancing the Wool, Knitted Snowflakes, Stars in the Making, and other books of knitting patterns. My “Flower Power Socks” design and my articles on building your own little great wheel and spinning with Cormo fiber can be found in Spin-Off magazine. My Braided Gems Socks pattern and Z Cuff Socks pattern are enjoying interest here on Ravelry. I have knitted the giant turtle, A’Tuin, from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, a Quidditch banner, a lacy summer hat for a pig, Nessie the Loch Ness Monster, and a house full of puppets.
