I’m an Irish knitter and clothing designer living in Donegal close to the border with Northern Ireland.
Life is good beside this border and it’s truly beautiful in a rugged way. If you like history we got some of that too!!!

I plan to bring more of my labels success in making luxury hand and machine knits to the pattern and kit market. It’s full circle to my early years as a knitting pattern designer.

As a child I dreamed of a room full of wool.

I feel so lucky to be close-by the amazing Irish spinners Donegal Yarns and the team I worked with fulltime in 1987 are still there doing a great job. I spent years sourcing our collection yarns at Pitti Florence, (many were for machine use). Wool always attracted me most in any form especially the beautiful versions at Zegna Baruffa. Now all I want to knit is beside me as Donegal Yarns are spinning wonderful blends. I sell all my favourites on the website including my yarn exclusive Sliabh Liag grey wool tweed.

Growing up and local history
My grandmothers home based dress making business is where I got a treal taste for the joy of making, colour, pattern and business.

Traditional ARAN sweaters were hand knit in thousands each week in Donegal, including Marilyn Monroes from the movie Let’s Make Love 1960. Four identical sweaters were knit for her role.

I’m honoured to visit and teach Irish Knitting at the Irish Fest Summer School, in Milwaukee,(2014-2020). Many of the patterns here were launched there!
