A classic v-neck cabled vest in 100% pure wool to keep the chilly autumn winds at bay and warm you all winter long; cable panels on both front and back grow from a cabled rib; armhole trim is knit-on i cord; v-neck trim is ribbed.

950 (1020, 1080, 1160, 1240, 1320, 1400, 1480) yds heavy worsted weight yarn; sample in Briggs & Little Regal (272 yds/248 m per 4 oz/113 g per skein; 100% wool) in Forest Brown
Needles
3.5 mm / US 4 circular, 32” / 81 cm and 24” / 61 cm and set of 2 dpn
4 mm / US 6 circular, 32” / 81 cm and set of 3 dpn
Adjust needle size as required to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions
10 stitch markers; 4 stitch holders; yarn needle to weave in ends
Method
Knit in round to underarms then knit flat; V-neck shaping begins after underarm shaping is complete; shoulders shaped with short rows and joined with a 3-Needle Bind-off (technique sheet included); Edging: V-neck is 1x1 rib, armhole knit-on I cord;
Stitch patterns are written and charted.
Skills
Cables, increase sts evenly, wrap & turn; ability to read your knitting i.e. be able to knit Knit sts and purl Purl sts as they face you; maintain pattern.
