#20 Oregon Autumn Cardigan
Pattern description from Vogue Knitting, Holiday 2007:
“Starmore, the doyenne of Fair Isle and Aran knitting, here resurrects her Oregon Autumn cardigan. This long-loved favorite weaves a rustic tapestry with no fewer than seventeen hues of Virtual Yarns’ ‘Hebridean 2-Ply,’ a fiber that pays homage to Starmore’s childhood home in the Outer Hebrides, off the coast of Scotland, where she learned to knit soon after she learned to walk. The garment is worked in the round in Fair Isle techniques, including corrugated ribs and steeks.”
janieknits photo shows the garment made in yarn other than the original, hence the very “stripey” look. rogue knitter photo shows the original 2 Ply Hebridean which is the yarn the Oregon Autumn was designed for.
