Adelei is a shawl constructed from the top down. Unique increases are incorporated in several places through the stockinette body to create a fuller, more ruffled appearance when worn as a scarf. The “spine” increases are done to look like faggoting, so there is one YO on the right and wrong side at those points. Through the lace section, lace stitches are only done on the right side, though there are are some WS rows with a mix of knitting and purling. I loved the look of the corner points of the lace so much, that I decided I needed more, and this was the perfect shape in which to include them. Add beads for a touch of sparkle and elegance. Includes charted and written instructions. Pattern has been test knit and tech edited.

Please note, I used 420 yds on size 6 needles, and tend to be a tight knitter. Test knitters used exactly 440yds/400m and just over that using smaller needles than me, so if in doubt, please have extra yarn on hand!

For a triangle shawl, see notes on my Adelei Prototype project.
