Puffy little picot stitches add dimension to an elegant throw. This afghan is easier to make than a traditional Aran pattern because it combines just two stitches.

The pattern specifies:

  • worsted-weight acrylic yarn, approximately 66.5 ounces (3,705 yards/3388 meters) cream
  • Size I afghan hook or size to obtain gauge
  • Size I crochet hook or size to obtain gauge
  • Yarn needle

Gauge: 18 stitches and 11.5 rows = 4”

The afghan is worked in individual panels of 181 rows each: 1 right diagonal panel, one left diagonal panel, 1 cable panel, 2 diamond panels. Black and white graphs give the stitch pattern. The pattern begins on page 58.
