Amelie is an open-front shawl collar cardigan with twisted rib details, including a Seven Sisters cable down the center back. The collar can be worn up or rolled down. Its pieces are knit flat and feature an interesting (but not difficult) construction. The fronts are made of one long piece that’s draped up and around the neck. The back is knit top-down by picking up stitches along the back neck of that piece. A background of reverse stockinette stitch offsets the twisted stitches. Slip stitches form a neat edge on fronts, sleeve cuffs and sweater bottom. Pattern includes schematics with measurements for all pieces.

Designed to fit the 18” American Girl or similar dolls with an 11” chest circumference.

The difficulty level of this pattern is: Intermediate - requires a knowledge of basic knitting skills, making twisted stitches by knitting (and purling) into the back loop, slipping stitches, increasing, decreasing, cables, casting on sts at the beginning/end of a row using backwards loop CO, seaming and picking up stitches.
