Animal balls is what happens when I start thinking about Christmas decorations in the middle of September, I wanted something cute that I could hang on my tree, but also something that didn’t necessarily have to be just for Christmas. Make the Icord longer and they would look wonderful as a baby mobile, leave off the Icord loop and they make great little toys (for children or cats) or perhaps even novelty juggling balls?

The pattern includes instructions to make a robin, penguin, bear, hedgehog and sheep. All of the balls are made from the same basic ball pattern, the pattern includes comprehensive instructions for each of the different animals.

Check out my other balls: More Animal Balls, Mega Penguin Ball, Mega Robin Ball and Mega Hedgehog ball.

The animal balls are knit in the round in one piece, stitches are picked up for the legs/feet/ears so that only minimal sewing is required for the facial features.
