The Love Scarf is inspired by the traditional Aran Zig Zag design, signifying the ups and downs of married life or life in general! There is one cable on the outside of each Zig Zag signifying the individual and two cables centre, symbolising togetherness. The rice stitch or broken rib edges may be expanded for more width or more cables added to the sides.
The pattern has notes added to instruct for a shorter cowl length.

(The last image in mustard and dark red has an extra cable on each side)

It is a very contemporary look in Aran or Irish knitting and part of Edel MacBride’s aran revival research.

While worked here in Aran weight, a worsted or any yarn weight will be great. Match needles to yarn always for the best desired result.
The pink (foxglove) and silver are merino and available on my website.
