I designed this pattern for the 2016 LYS Tour (Local Yarn Store Tour) for my shop, All Wound Up, located in Edmonds, WA.

This downloadable version has been corrected. Original printed copies had two small errata:

In the chart key, V - slip stitch wyif should have said wyib
the symbol V (underlined) - slip stitch wyib should have said wyif
The chart and written directions were correct. Only the key was incorrect.

Also one note was added… for those knitting the L size, in the hat body, the round K2tog, YO, repeat will end with a K1.

Video tutorials for the hat have been posted to our shop blog. Read the blog at www.allwoundupyarnshop.com

The brim of the hat is knit flat, with elegant shaping. Ribbing is edged in simple lace one one side, and seed stitch on the other, and sections are wrapped to achieve a smocked effect. The i-cord edge makes picking up stitches a breeze, and the rest of the hat has simple eyelet detailing, but is mainly worked in stockinette.

This pattern matches beautifully with my Aurora Bootcuffs and Freya Gauntlets.
