The front and back of this easy to knit pillow are worked the same, beginning with a center block of double moss stitch. The cable borders are added by picking up stitches along one edge, casting on stitches for the border, then joined at the end of every right side row.

The leaves can be worked in the same or different colors. Choose from a maple leave, oak leaf, or gingko leaves. Hand painted yarn in a contrasting color will give a more autumnal effect.

The front and back are joined using reverse single crochet to mimic the 2-st twist in the borders.

Pillow is 16” (40.5 cm) square.
Yarn needed: 686 yds (627 m) of a DK weight yarn.
Yarn used: 3 hanks of Red Barn Yarn Powder River (75% Rambouillet wool, 25% alpaca; 260 yds/238 m per 100 gram hank), shown in color Precious Rubies.

Errata: There was an error in the line-by-line instructions for the Cable Panel (the chart is correct). Row 27 should read: Sl 1 wyif, p2, k3, p4, k7, p2, k2.
