This hat is an homage to the retro cloche caps or flapper beanies of the 1920’s but updated with a modern twist just for baby. It uses simple single crochet stitches with the occasional double crochet stitch cluster for adornment as seen in the hat’s scalloped edge. It’s a quick project and great for even beginners to tackle.

The hat, which will fit head sizes of about 14” to 15” or a size 0 to 3 months, can be made in any DK or light worsted weight yarn and a size H8 / 5.00 MM crochet hook. You will need about 100 yards or so of yarn and a needle and thread (or same yarn used for hat) to sew the flower onto the hat with.

The last photo shows a hat and matching blanket made by a customer who purchased the pattern. Way to go Jan! :)
