Baltian is a relaxed, easy-fitting sweater featuring a batwing shape, wide boatneck and colorwork.

This sweater is designed to fit with 2-6” of positive ease at the hip. Sample pictured is a size 3, with 3.75” of positive ease.

I used silky, drapey Magpie Swanky Sock for the body, with 2 strands of Magpie Feather (in 2 colors) for the colorwork to add a little more fluffy textural interest. It is so soft and dreamy to wear! You could also use regular fingering for the colowork if you prefer.

Needles:
Note! Needle size is suggested only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge. Some knitters may need to use a larger needle to maintain an even gauge over color work and plain stockinette, so make sure to swatch both!
Main: US 4/3.5 mm
Ribbing: US 2/2.75 mm

Notions:
Stitch markers- one unique to mark BOR, stitch holders (or scrap yarn), tapestry needle

Gauge:
20 sts and 24 rows/rounds over 4” 10 cm after blocking with larger needles in stockinette and colorwork pattern.
You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit—in this case, in the round. Block your swatch as you will your finished garment and allow it to dry fully before measuring.
