PATTERN NOTES
This little sweater hits that sweet spot in a knitting project – an engaging stitch pattern that isn’t overly difficult, small and portable, and the opportunity to perhaps learn a new technique like crochet! Classic St John’s Wort patterning adorns the fronts and back of this cardigan while the sleeves are plain stockinette. A simple crocheted edging finishes off the lower edge, and it uses only single and double crochet stitches.

Basil Sprout is knit in pieces from the bottom up.

• 221 Seedling (MC) – 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 4)
• 220 Concord (CC) – 1 skein, all sizes
Needle: US Size 7 (4.5 mm) straight or size needed to obtain gauge
US Size 6 (4 mm) 24” circular (used to accommodate large number of sts)
