We’re starting off Storied Yarns by setting up our campaign using a Battle Mat! This is a Split Image pattern with multiple applications - One side of the project will have squares, the other side has hexes. There are 4 applications I have created for the pattern - Hat, Cowl, Scarf, and Blanket. Pattern variants for just squares and just hexes are also included for use in stranded colorwork. Most of the patterns can be made in either double knitting or stranded colorwork, however, please use caution if you’re making the blanket or hat with colorwork! Due to the size of the blanket you would have to use a massive set of needles and work everything in the round or do both sides as separate tubes, steek, and sew together. The hat is similar in that it would be easiest to make two separate colorwork hats and sew them together.

Variations -

Hat/Cowl ~ 200 yards of each color for 400 yards total
Scarf ~ 600 yards of each color for 1200 yards total
Blanket ~ 4500 yards of each color for 9000 yards total
