This adult hat is the perfect hat for a beginner to learn how to knit and purl in the row. There is simple shaping for the crown too so another technique to try out and add to your new skills.
It uses super chunky yarn so if you are an experienced knitter it can be knitted in an evening – perfect if you want a new hat for a chilly frosty morning!

This fun ribbed pom pom hat uses the simple rib which means you can easily knit this pattern longer so that your hat can either have a brim, if you want it to, or if you knit the short version it becomes a fitted beanie. I love adding a touch of colour to the hat with a pom pom, this can use oddments of other knitted things, to leave you with a hat that reminds you of all those lovely things you have made.

For this pattern I used:

One 100g hank of Purl &Jane Supermerino (100% merino wool, 100g/65m/71yds)
Or you can use two strands of aran weight yarn held together – Two hanks of WYS Bluefaced Leicester Aran – Undyed (100% Bluefaced Leicester, 166m/181yds per 100g)
