These socks are the first in a series to be designed for anyone who likes to add a little quirkiness to their everyday attire.

The pattern is charted with written instructions for the cuff, heel and toe. Two skeins in contrasting colours are required to make these socks. Seventy-five percent of the Main Colour was used and thirty percent of the Contrast Color was used in a test knit of the pattern as written (Purple and gold socks).

Smaller socks (Green and cream socks) were obtained by using a 2.25mm needle. Instructions are provided for lengthening or shortening the socks.

An alternate chart is also included if you would prefer your bees to face up.

Please note: Gauge is really important in stranded socks. There are many different techniques available for obtaining correct gauge in stranded work. Some of the test knit socks used a twisted technique for standing the colourwork. I also recommend swatching in the round your preferred technique to check whether your socks will fit over your ankle, as colourwork socks can be disappointingly snug.
