The beginner blanket is a blanket with a very simple pattern using garter stitch as well as a simple stitch pattern of yarn overs and knitting 3 stitches together. The pattern looks advanced, but is actually very easy to knit. The pattern includes both a charted and a written pattern. The blanket can be knit using multiple colours or in a single colour with a contrasting stripe (see the blanket at the end of the pattern).

Finished measurements after wash and blocking:

Baby blanket: approx. 73 x 96 cm.

Junior blanket: approx. 92 x 128 cm.

Adult blanket: approx. 110 x 192 cm.

Yarn: Økologisk Hverdagsuld (Eco Everyday Wool) from CaMaRose.dk, 100% pure new ecological wool.

Needles: Circular needle size 4 mm and 5 mm (100 cm).

Gauge: approx. 20 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm on size 4 mm. The pattern repeat from the chart is approx. 4 cm high and 6 cm wide.

Approximal yardage for multicoloured blanket:

Baby blanket: As junior blanket. Yarn for gauge swatch is included in this yarn requirement.

Junior blanket: 10 skeins total: 2 skeins in col 1, and 1 skein of each of the colours (2-9) as above. Yarn for gauge swatch is

included in this yarn requirement.
Adult blanket: 19 skeins total: 3 skeins in col 1: Kit (06), 2 skeins of each of the following colours: col 2: Muldvarp (47), col 3: Mellemgrå (07), col 4: Ocean (52), col 5: Mintblå (50), col 6: Lys okker (35), col 7: Mørk okker (37), col 8: Koral (15) and col 9: Fersken (12). Yarn for gauge swatch is included in this yarn requirement.

Approximal yardage for single colour blanket:

Baby blanket: Col 1: approx. 5 skeins, and col 2: 2 skeins.

Junior blanket: Col 1: approx. 2 skeins, and col 2: 7 skeins.

Adult blanket: Col 1: 3 skeins, and col 2: 12 skeins .

Before starting the blanket, it is important you knit a gauge swatch! This is because the pattern pulls itself together during the knitting, and the blanket widens quite a bit after washing. Thus it can be difficult to measure the gauge correctly without the swatch. The Eco Everyday Wool has an airiness to it that makes it especially suited for interior projects like blankets. The yarn softens up considerably after washing.
