Belle Beanie by Kirstie McLeod

Belle Beanie

This is the cover project for the Simply Crochet supplement from Simply Knitting magazine 74, December 2010. It’s a crocheted mesh hat with attached crocheted flower in the same yarn, with a button as flower-centre - reminiscent of 1970s hippie style.

According to the pattern, this hat takes about a third of the 100g ball (298m) of recommended yarn. No gauge is given, and there is no chart.

Comment from Raveller:
The designer’s comment in the pattern states that the recommended yarn has “lots of stretch” due to the wool content. Since stretch is part of the design, any substitute yarn would need to have some stretch in it, so that it fits most women’s head sizes.
