Belu is the Chichewa word for Bell. I am completely fascinated with world languages and love to learn about different cultures. This design incorporates my passion for languages and my love of cultures by blending the bell shape design with a Bohemian style eyelet bands around the neck and sleeve (add ribbons through the eyelets if desired) with a simple name pulled from the Bantu culture that helped shaped the Appalachian region where my mother’s family planted its roots.

I really enjoy creating raglan style pullovers with circular yokes. This finished design has crisp increase edges where the sleeves and body sections meet while allowing for a completely seamless sweater. I also intentionally kept the body simple so it can be adjusted for a perfect length or even extended into a dress if desired.
