This hat strikes a sweet balance between the practical and the whimsical. The ribbing is a breeze to knit, making this a great project to work while on-the-go. The eyelet lace and purl stitch details evoke a feminine feel while the slouchy shape keeps it fresh and edgy. The eyelets continue in a pretty swirl through the crown and the laced-up ribbon adds just the right amount of flirtation and fancy to the finished piece. Use a luxurious silk blend yarn to make it even more wonderful!

The hat is knit from brim to crown, with the ribbing worked on needles one size down from the main body of the hat. The pattern is written for either worsted or DK weight yarn. Both versions fit an average adult woman, 18-22” (46-56 cm) circumference head, with the DK version resulting in a slightly slouchier fit. The hat is finished with a length of ribbon or some i-cord in a contrasting color laced up one side.
