The Bessie is a lovely hat that is extra warm with a double layer of fabric for the brim. The simplicity of the brim stitch is complimented with textured stitches that create many lofty air pockets to hold in the warmth. This is a fashionable way to stay warm.

This hat is reminiscent of the 1920’s when ladies wore hats that had drape to the side. You can wear this hat many different ways as shown in the pics--jauntily perched to one side, puffed full, or as a beanie.

This pattern includes three sizes and instructions for making the hat shorter in height.
