This hat draws on Gudrun’s Shetland heritage, and utilizes a traditional lace pattern in a contemporary context. She also loves to design using seamless construction methods and is always adding new techniques to her seamless knitting skills.

North Light Fibers is a Micro Yarn Mill located on Block Island, RI where handcrafted minimally processed yarns are produced from exotic fibers such as alpaca, yak, camel, cashmere, mohair, bison and other specialty fibers. All washing, dyeing, carding, spinning and finishing is performed here at the mill on the Island. Please come visit and take a tour of the mill and see the farm – walk among the alpaca and pat a yak or feed the Scottish highland bulls. Our goal is to establish year round economic sustainability to a very seasonal economy in addition to producing world-class yarn. We hope you enjoy it!

The colour shown is Stonewall Grey but other North Light Fibers fingering weight yarn can be substituted.

This pattern is sold as part of a kit (yarn and pattern) in our store on Block Island and on our website.
