For these slipped stitch mosaic socks, choose 2 solid colours or 1 solid with a self-striping or that variegated yarn in your stash that refuses to get along with all the other patterns.

Make both socks the same or reverse the second. The effect of reversing the colours will be very subtle and only show in the cuff, heel and toe but it is a good way to use the same amount of each colour.

The socks are knit cuff-down with either a slipped stitch or eye of partridge flap heel. The pattern is written for 2 sizes, women’s medium and large. Being a stocking stitch-based pattern, the socks do have some stretch. As an aid to selecting size, note that the medium size fits my 8” ankle and 10.5” leg circumference at the cuff.

The first photo shows matched socks in Sandnes Garn Sisu and the second photo shows reversed socks in Brown Sheep Wildfoote Luxury Sock & Paton’s Stretch Socks.
