The Blue Whale Tea Cosy was inspired by those cute pictures you see with little smiling faces on. I wanted the whale to look cute and personable, and I wanted to make him in a colourful oceanic colour so I chose blue.

At the bottom of the cosy is a wave design. It might look like intarsia or Fair Isle, but it’s actually knitted in stripes, and is as easy as knitting stripes.

The whale tail sticks up at the back. It’s smaller than you’d expect for the size of the whale, and it adds to the cuteness.

It’s a lovely quick and easy tea cosy that feels summery and jolly. Perfect for people who love whale watching.

The Blue Whale tea cosy fits a medium sized tea pot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.

The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting him very soon!
