The Burrow Snood is a cozy hooded cowl, meant to keep you warm on chilly days. It can be worn completely around the neck as a slouchy cowl, or half of the piece can be pulled up over the head to block the wind and keep your ears toasty. An easy knit, the Burrow Snood includes tutorial video links for any techniques that might be new to a knitter.

Construction Details
This cowl is made in one piece. Stitches are cast on for the bottom edging and joined in the round. A simple knit/purl checkerboard pattern is worked. To separate the bottom half from the top, a few rounds of a puffy reverse stockinette are worked before finishing off the cowl in Stockinette Stitch and a ridged band.

• Increase: kfb
• Decrease: p2tog

Finished measurements: approx. 23.5”/60 cm circumference x 21.5”/55 cm depth.

Yarn: 350 yards of worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn.

Shaina’s Brown Snood is made with Zen Yarn Garden “Serenity Worsted” (75% superwash merino, 15% cashmere, 10% nylon; 175 yds/100g) in Zena, 2 skeins.

Shaina’s Blue Snood is made with two strands of Zen Yarn Garden “Superfine Fingering” (90% superwash merino, 10% nylon; 400 yds/100g) held together. 1 skein each in Midnight Teal and Blue Hawaii.

Gauge: 17 stitches and 20 rounds = 4” in stockinette stitch using size needle to obtain gauge.

Needles: US 9 (5.5 mm) 24”/60 cm circular knitting needle or size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain correct gauge.
