This is one of those deceiving patterns where the yarn does much of the work for you, most of the knitting is simple garter stitch, so even less experienced knitters can produce a visually interesting mid-season accessory. The scarf is basically a long parallelogram which means that the rows, whilst they are knit horizontally, will actually hang at an angle on the finished item creating stripes without the feel of it being a ‘school-scarf’.

It was designed with the Sol Dégradé in mind but any variegated yarn with fairly long colour repeats should work. Gauge isn’t that important although you do want it to be nice and loose so you don’t end up with a mini neck-warmer.
