Bygone Beret, Mesh with Flower
This timeless mesh beret is a nod to the glamour of a bygone era yet it’s equally wearable with a modern t-shirt and jeans.
The body of the hat is crocheted in an open weave or mesh pattern from the top down and worked in the round. The band of the hat is worked in single crochet stitches to provide a snug fit around your head. The finished hat when made with a DK weight yarn will fit head sizes from 21” to 22.5”. I used one skein of Blue Sky Alpacas Skinny Cotton in the color Basil to make this beret.
A flower can be attached to the hat with a safety pin or sewn on. You can even weave a ribbon through the row of decorative holes in the band of the hat for yet another look.
