Splashing in mud puddles, digging in the garden, cool moist earth beneath your feet and fresh spring bulbs delighting your eyes.

These Aran, wool boot socks are the perfect compliment for all your cool weather excursions, from simple play to serious garden digging! Made to stay put in rubber boots, keep you snuggly warm and insulated even when moist and damp and perfectly fitted to your calf and foot for maximum comfort!

These socks are designed to fit perfectly over the shorter style Bogs and rubber boots (9” leg rise) and are perfect for tucking your jeans into the top of, while still maintaining a comfortable fit. The cuff of this pair was inspired by Bronwyn Lowenthal’s Men’s Aran Boot sock, which can be found in her “Love To Knit Socks” book.

Materials: size 8 dpns, Aran or Worsted weight wool yarn weight 4sed left over’s from a skein of fisherman’s wool, so it is a bit difficult to judge yardage, I would say between 300 and 400 yards would be perfect. ), 1 skein matching wool sock yarn (166 yards or so) for reinforced foot. Optionally the cuff and upper leg can be worked on a 16” size 8 circ needle, switching to dpns latter.
