Knit from the outside in, this afghan features a delicate scallop edging, a textured center, and mitered decreases. The full size has an optional zipper that allows the garment to be worn dramatically as a caftan. Whether you want an elegant alternative to a Snuggie or you want to wrap up your newest grandchild in a very special heirloom this pattern is challenging and satisfying to knit. If desired you can knit the border flat - wrong side rows knit the knits & purl the purls (purling the yarn overs), join in the round when border is finished. When afghan is done sew the border seam.
