This is a pattern for a lacy shoulder cowl. There are two lengths contained within the pattern. The longer finished cowl measures 58 X 10 1/2 inches, and the shorter one measures 46 X 10 1/2 inches (which is the one seen in the pictures), so you have your choice of how long you would like your infinity scarf to be. The lace cowl can be worn as a spring garment, draping over your shoulders in a way that won’t fall off. Or it can be made to be warmer, by wrapping it around your neck and shoulders if you decide to make the longer length. However, you may have a favorite way to wear cowls that’s different from mine. The cable lace stitch is a unique one that is both fun to make and wear. As you can see, it forms its own very feminine scallop at the neck.

The cable lace stitch is both charted, and written out line by line. It is a fun and not very difficult stitch to knit. It will give anyone new to cable-lace a taste of what that type of knitting is all about and they can see whether they like it…most knitters do, but not all.

Skill Level: Beginner + -Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of both knitting, purling, cable-lace knitting.)

The yarn used in the sample is made with Lorna’s Shepherd Sport yarn (undyed).

It was expertly pattern tested by: Cherie Warner, who can be contacted at: bwarnergroup@ wowway.com, and who is known on Ravelry as “bwarnergroup.”
