Catenary is an intricately cabled hat, perfect for cool fall days. The sport weight yarn makes it a detailed knit, and intertwining cables that overlap every few rounds serve to keep the knitter engaged to the very last stitch.

Materials Required:
Yarn:
1 skein(s) of Briggs & Little Sport 100% wool;
430 yards (393 meters) / 113 grams (4 ounces)

or 350 yards (320 meters) of equivalent sport or
fingering weight yarn. Shown in the colorway Light
Green.

Needles:
One 40 cm / 16” circular and one set of five DPNs
in size needed to obtain gauge.
Suggested size: 2.75 mm / US 2

Other materials:
Cable needle, tapestry needle, row counter or pen
and paper for note taking, stitch markers, scrap
yarn for provisional cast on, towels and mild soap
for blocking.

Gauge:
33 stitches and 48 rounds = 10 cm / 4” in cable
pattern on 2.75mm / US 2 needles
after blocking.
33 stitches and 40 rounds = 10 cm / 4” in ribbing
pattern on 2.75mm / US 2 needles
after blocking.

Sizes:
