This pretty blanket uses a combination of slipped stitches and lace to create an interesting textured pattern that forms little hexagonal shapes in the fabric. It’s made all in one, so there’s no need to sew the border on afterwards, and the finished item measures approx. 64 x 64 cm (25 x 25 inches) – perfect for a car seat, buggy or Moses basket. I used an easy care, acrylic yarn, but as the tension isn’t crucial you can substitute any DK yarn of your choice, but please check the yardage carefully.

You will need to know how to work basic knit and purl stitches as well as the yarn forward, knit 2 together technique to make the lacy pattern. While the stitches themselves are not tricky, there is a lot of counting to keep track of – this pattern is suited more for intermediate and confident knitters than beginners.
