Birdcages make an enchanting wedding table centre and are very ‘on trend’ this season.

This novelty champagne (wine jacket) birdcage combines the popularity of the birdcage with wine and flowers - the perfect bridal shower gift for any bride to be!

The birdcage will fit a 75cl (29 cm/ 11½” tall) bottle.

This pattern contains a full photo tutorial to assist you in making the birdcage. A reduced print version is included on pages 9&10.

YOU WILL NEED: 330 m white 100% cotton 4 ply, 150 m floral coloured 4 ply, 150 m green 4 ply and a 1.50 mm hook.

YOU WILL ALSO NEED: one 2.5 cm (1”) diameter ring or key loop, two 12.5 cm (5”) diameter rings or circular bag handles, a needle for neatening ends, a glue gun (optional) and a bottle of champagne/wine (also optional but recommended).

GAUGE for the birdcage: 14dc into ring to 3 cm (1¼”).

GAUGE for the vine: 1 leaf + 3ch to 3 cm (1¼”).
