These simple, comfortable mitts are a lovely solution for those times when the weather outside is sweltering, but the AC indoors is set to “deep freeze.” They are perfect for rainy spring days, cool summer nights, or any other time you need just a little extra warmth. You can knit them up in a single weekend using just one skein of your favorite yarn.

These mitts are knit in the round, starting at the cuff. The thumb gusset and opening are worked in as you go: no putting stitches on hold or picking up new ones. Once you weave in the ends, they’re ready to wear as-is, or embellish to suit your tastes.

Pattern includes directions for making the mitts in two lengths. The short version goes a little past the wrist, while the long version reaches the middle of the forearm. Notes for customizing size and fit are also included.

Difficulty: Confident Beginner

Skills Needed: knit, purl, working in the round. Instructions are included for the two increases used. The twisted stitch pattern is also explained.

Please note that although suggestions are given for embroidering on the floral pattern, no tutorial is given on the specific techniques.
