Chibi Totoro Toy
Totoros are shy forest spirits portrayed in My Neighbor Totoro, a charming animated film by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki. The smallest totoro shown in the movie is known as the chibi totoro in Japanese, and it often appears to be nothing more than a white body with eyes, ears and a tail.
No specific yarn or needles are recommended. Knit this with the Chu Totoro and O Totoro* patterns at the same gauge for a complete set. If you’re a beginning knitter, this is the easiest totoro. It’s knit in the round with some short rows and a bobble tail. If you’re an experienced knitter, you’ll find this a quick but interesting knit, and good for stashbusting small quantities of yarn.
Note: My O Totoro pattern is still under construction and has been shelved indefinitely. However, fellow raveler kjbrasda has adapted the Chibi pattern to full size in her fabulous O Totoro. Check it out!
