TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN

Links to videos for selected techniques are included. I look for videos as close as possible to the instructions I have written. Sometimes they may be slightly different but still very helpful.

  • Cast-on
  • Bind-off
  • ssk
  • Increase KFB
  • Yarn overs
  • Pick-up and knit stitches
  • Joining two pieces using the third needle method -
  • Weaving rows to stitches
  • Weaving stitches to stitches
  • Weaving rows to rows
  • Single crochet
  • Crochet picot

Regardless of their age babies and children’s actual body measurements vary. It is helpful to use the FINISHED GARMENT MEASUREMENTS, in the chart in photo with schematic and sizes, which refers to this specific garment only. It can help you choose the size you prefer.

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE

  • Rowan Cashsoft dk
  • 57% extra fine merino, 33% acrylic microfibre, 10% cashmere
  • 75 ounces-(50 grams) 142 yards-(130 m) each ball
  • 4(4 - 5 - 6 -7) balls Main Color (MC)
  • 1(1 - 1 - 2 - 2) balls Contrasting Color (CC)

For your pullover to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.
