I designed the Christingle Mingle Cowl as a fun advent project, using some of those gorgeous mini skeins of yarn that we all have in our yarn stash.

I wanted this cowl to be relaxing to knit, with the yarns taking centre stage. I love to play with colour and this project has that in abundance!

The pretty lace ribbing at the top and bottom, frame the playful stripes of stocking stitch. I loved seeing how each yarn worked with the previous one, and really couldn’t knit it fast enough!

You can of course knit the cowl at any time of year. The ever popular Christmas In July event seems a perfect opportunity, and an autumnal themed cowl would be fabulous too.

Cowl Details

The ribbing at the top and bottom has a pretty lace detail. The body of the cowl is worked in relaxing stocking stitch, with a fun striping sequence that speeds the knitting along.

The pattern is knitted in the round using a 40 cm circular needle. The lace pattern is both written and charted.

Size

The finished cowl measures 24 inches (61 cm) in circumference and 25 inches (63 cm) long.

Yarn

I used 12 x 20g mini skeins that I dyed myself. You will require 6 mini skeins that are tonal/solids and 6 that are speckled or lightly variegated.

You will have a little leftover from each mini. The most I used was 15g and the least was 12g - some colours are used a little more that others.

The pattern contains a bonus hat design to use up your leftover yarn.
