Time is a baffling thing. Steady and predictable in theory, but variable and erratic in practice. The more you chase it; the more it hides. The more you want it; the more it eludes you.

The slipped stitch lines of this cowl are evocative of hourglasses, with a thread of sand flowing through their center. You may notice the minutes fly by while you’re knitting it. Chronos, the greek god of time, would hopefully approve.

Yarn – 150 (200, 325) yards fingering-weight yarn, evenly divided between two colors. Shown in Knit One Crochet Too Cozette (62% silk/30% cotton/8% polyamide; 273 yards/250 meters per 1.75 ounce/50 gram skein). Short cowl (aqua/gray) in Seaglass 567 (main color) and Gray Sky 611 (contrast color). Medium cowl (gray/orange) in Gray Sky 611 (main color) and Tangerine 338 (contrast color).
