There is no substituting a classic hat and scarf pattern for your loved ones or a staple in your own wardrobe; this easy hat and scarf will be a welcome addition. You need 2 hanks of Cascade Pastaza or any medium (4) weight yarn to make both the hat and scarf.

Each hank of Pastaza is 132 yards or you need approximately 264 yards total. The hat’s sizes are 14” toddler, 16” child, 18” woman and 20” man, unstretched. They fit 17” toddler, 19” child, 21” woman and 23” man, stretched.

The reversible scarf is 3” unstretched by approximately 50”. Both use a knit four, purl four rib and is suitable for both men and women -- classic style with just a little kick!

The hat uses a 16” circular needle set and four double-pointed needles, US size 8. The gauge for the hat is 3.5 stitches and 5 rows = 1” in stockinette stitch. The scarf uses US size 10.5 and has a gauge of 3 stitches and 4 rows = 1”.
